BDRM - Bamberger Detoxification and Renewal Method

The body's ability to thrive depends on two vital factors: its ability to detoxify  itself and its ability to renew  itself. Only through an ongoing cycle of detoxification and renewal is your body is able to maintain optimal health and wellness. As your level of toxicity increases, the level of health and wellness that you experience decreases.

Detoxification is a vital component of a dynamic cycle of renewal and enlivening that paves the way for healing and regeneration physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

To thrive in an increasingly toxic world - Toxins must be avoided to the greatest extent possible AND the body must be strengthened so that it is better able to adapt and ultimately thrive in a toxic world, a state we call "resilience".  Most detoxification programs focus on the toxins and ignore the general decrease in a patient's health status (loss of resilience) that led to the accumulation of toxins in the body that caused the disease.  BDRM protocols allow our doctors to identify the specific toxins that interfere with your optimal wellness. Dr. Lynn Bamberger's Lifestyle Makeover Guide will walk you through a series of Lifestyle Makeovers that help you reduce your exposure to toxins in the food you eat, the air you breathe, and the environment in which you live and work. It also helps your body to become more resilient in relationship to each of the toxins that weaken you.

Many illnesses are caused by the body's inability to effectively handle toxins - A key concept here is the "inability to adapt". That adaptation failure is an important component is made obvious by the fact that in the same environment one person will thrive, while another may become seriously ill, and another may die as a result of the adverse effects of these toxins. Clearly the issue is not simply the toxins themselves. Susceptibility to toxins and their adverse effects is highly individual - as is the capability of the body's natural detoxification mechanisms to handle the ever increasing level of toxins. Toxicity is progressive and cumulative.

Most approach detoxification in a way that is similar to the way that weight loss programs address obesity, with the end result often being that the weight which is lost is  soon regained - PLUS SOME. She found that the same thing was happening with toxicity in many of the detoxification methods that she studied. She realized that to be effective a detoxification program must  focus on prevention and maintenance, which is what BDRM does.

Effective detoxification depends on an optimally functioning nervous system - which is the body's master coordination and control system. When something, such as pressure on a nerve (a condition called a subluxation) interferes with the full and optimal functioning of the nervous system, it causes the body to enter into a state of less than optimal functioning, which is associated with most forms of dis-ease known to man. Subluxation care forms the cornerstone of BDRM because a subluxated person can not effectively detoxify. When subluxations are removed, the body's innate ability to detoxify itself from within is enhanced. It is on this foundation of subluxation care that all other aspects of BDRM rest. The Autonomic Nervous System (the ANS) plays a crucial role in detoxification -  If the sympathetic and parasympathetic branches of the autonomic nervous system are not activated and balanced, the body's innate detoxification mechanisms are compromised. This often occurs BDRM helps the body to resolve this stress and activates and balances the autonomic nervous system.

Diet plays a crucial role in the cycle of detoxification and renewal - This is especially true if an individual is to thrive in a toxic world. What Dr. Bamberger has found is that lifestyle needs vary greatly from one person to another.  BDRM identifies the individual needs of each person and incorporates those into her wellness plan for each patient.

The body's innate detoxification priorities - Dr. Bamberger has identified a series of eight detoxification priorities that must be honored if the body is to effectively detoxify. Honoring these priorities helps prevent toxic yo-yo.

The Body's Innate Detoxification Priorities - Possibly the most important aspect of BDRM is its recognition of the of the body's innate detoxification priorities and the importance of working in accordance with those priorities.

BDRM helps patients not just to survive, but to THRIVE, in the real world - which unfortunately is highly toxic. BDRM works in accordance with the body's innate detoxification priorities.

bulletBDRM Activates the body's innate detoxification and renewal mechanisms, by:
bulletRemoving interference to the proper functioning of the nervous system. Known as subluxations, this interference causes the body to enter into a state of less than optimal functioning, reduces the overall functionality of the body's "detoxification and renewal machinery", which may ultimately cause most forms of dis-ease states known to man.
bulletActivating and balancing the sympathetic and parasympathetic branches of the nervous system.
bulletOpens escape routes through which toxins can exit the body - thereby minimizing toxic yo-yo, a situation toxins are stirred up, but the body is not able to eliminate them.
bulletUtilizes diet - to provide nutrients necessary for detoxification and renewal.
bulletUtilizes exercise to:
bulletactivate the body and its metabolic processes.
bulletactivate the lymphatic drainage pumping mechanisms, which helps remove toxins from the body.

There are 8 Levels in the BDRM Detoxification and Renewal Process - BDRM addresses each of these levels in accordance with the body's natural detoxification priorities.

bulletEach of the eight levels of care in BDRM must be completed in its natural order in order to lay the necessary foundation for each succeeding level. If this is not done,  a "toxic yo-yo" effect may result.
bulletEach level of BDRM addresses both detoxification and renewal, so with each level there is an increasing enlivening
bulletUpon effective activation of the eight levels the body will be better able to adapt to toxic exposures than it was in the past, before it became ill.
