The body-mind and wholeness - Body and consciousness are not the separate and distinct entities that they were once believed to be. They are inseparable aspects of an indivisible whole that interact to cause disease, speed recovery, or help you stay healthy. We now know that emotional states alter your body's chemical balances which can eventually lead to physical conditions, and that severe illness or disability can have both direct and indirect effects on your state of consciousness, affecting your moods and even on your psychological well being. Everything you have experienced in your life, imprints the body as a memory. Whether you are conscious of these imprints, which begin with conception, have a profound impact on your physical, psychological, and spiritual well being. Positive experiences will imprint the body in ways that support a strong healthy constitution. Traumatic or difficult experiences trapped in the body will create constriction, lack of energy flow, pain and/or dysfunction. Body Memories may be held in any part of the body. They may affect a single cell, or an entire body system / or systems. There are numerous types of body imprints, all of which act like sub-programs in the bio-computer function of the nervous system. Body Memory Imprints - Body
Memory imprints, which are sometimes called cell memories, may be held in any
part of the body. They may affect a single cell, or an entire body system or
multiple systems. The brain and nervous system can be seen as a vastly complex
computer. An imprint is like a sub-program that alters the function of the main
program that runs the body. These imprints - along with our genetic programs -
are what cause our individuality. They are also what makes one man’s medicine
another man’s poison. Physical trauma or negative emotional experiences can
accumulate throughout life without apparent negative consequence and then, what
may be a seemingly insignificant event, becomes the straw that broke the camels
back and dis-ease, sometimes life threatening, sets in. These "body memory
imprints" are named based on the source of their origin. Among them are: Removing Body Memory Imprints - These traumatic or stressful body memory imprints can be released using the gentle, non-invasive methods of holistic chiropractic, thereby allowing the body to function better and to heal more completely. In experiencing this work, you will become aware of self-defeating patterns and be able to break free from behaviors that have kept you from enjoying life to its fullest. In addition you will also become more aware of your life supporting behaviors and learn to utilize them to your advantage. Holistic chiropractic uncovers the energetic blockages associated with particular physical or emotional memories, allowing habitual responses to emotional stimuli to be released. Free from reactivity, we are able to become more pro-active, choosing the actions and behaviors that support us, rather than being run by our past experiences and habitual responses. It is important to note that this work is not psychotherapy. What we do in removing emotional body imprints is to release body patterns associated with emotional memory, while psycho-therapy works on the level of the mind and emotions and generally ignores its effect on the body.
