Many of the natural medicines we tested for our new patients were found to be either harmful or had no effect - As part of our initial exam at Bamberger Center for Health, we have our patients bring in all the pills and other products that that they are taking, as part of their current health regimen. Using kinesiology we test each herb and nutritional supplement by itself. We test it for its intended local effect and for its general effects on the whole body. In addition we test the combination of all the products that the person is taking together. Although many of these products were were originally prescribed by licensed health providers, and may at one time have been quite effective, we have found the following alarming results

bullet ALL patients were weakened when all the herbs and nutritional supplements that they were taking were tested together, indicating that their combined effects were weakening and that possibly there were some interactions between various items that are harmful to the body.
bullet When tested individually, a considerable number of herbs and supplements tested weak, indicating that they are harmful for the body.
bullet Supplements that test strong for their intended local purpose - say to strengthen the adrenals - did test strong for that, but when tested as to its effects on the entire endocrine (glandular) system or for the whole of all body systems it weakened the person. This clearly points out the dangers of healing methods that target a part, while ignoring the whole.
bullet A large majority of supplements neither harmed or helped the body. They did nothing at all. Taking them is simply a waste of money.
bullet Some patients were found to be allergic to some of the supplements they are taking. Daily intake of a food, herb, or supplement increases the likelihood of developing an allergy to it.
bullet Only about 10 percent of the supplements that our new patients were taking at the time that they came to see us were beneficial for the body.

COMMENT: These findings are are on the patients that we see at Bamberger Center and may not represent the whole population.

CONCLUSION Lots of people are wasting LOTS of money on things that are at times doing more harm than good. I believe that natural medicines are an important component of a good health care regimen. It is important the your body has what it need, not what someone thinks it needs; and it is important that it have the product for only as long as it is needed.

What was most startling to me was that when I tested the systemic effect of the combination of all products together that a patient was taking, the total combination had a weakening effect in ALL patients tested

To me these findings do not diminish the value of herbal and nutritional medicine. What these findings do is point out the need for finding what the body actually needs at any given moment, rather than what someone (including health practitioners) think that it needs. (See article on the dangers of modern science). It also points out the danger of using products (pharmaceutical or natural) to treat a part of the body, as in the adrenal glands, while failing to look at what that product does to other parts or to the wholeness.
