Allergy Prevention

Listen to your body - become aware of the signs of allergic reaction. Learn and practice simple allergy pulse diagnosis. To do this simply take your pulse before eating a food or being exposed to a substance and then again 10, 20 and 40 minutes afterward to determine if there is an increase in pulse rate. If there is a noticeable increase, it is highly likely that you are allergic. Most reactions show up in 10 minutes. Some take longer. A general rule of thumb is that the greater the increase in pulse rate the more severe is the reaction.

Avoid known allergens - This is particularly true if you are tired or feeling stressed out.

Get adequate rest and sleep. When you feel tired get some rest, as the body is more prone to allergic reactions when it is weak or tired.

Rotate foods in your diet - Don't eat the same food or drink the same beverate day in and day out. Multiple, frequent, and repeated exposure to a substance lead to an increased likelihood of developing an allergy.

Eat in a relaxed, non-stressful environment and eat your meals with an attitude of gratitude. Relaxation promotes proper digestion and immune function - both of which are necessary in the prevention of allergies. Immune and digestive system functioning are under control of the sympathetic nervous system which is the relaxation branch. The fight - flight, or action branch, is the sympathetic branch. When one branch of the autonomic nervous system is dominant, the other becomes inactive. Our digestive and immune systems only work optimally in a restful and relaxed environment.

Take time to enjoy your life. Rest and enjoyment are part of your body's internal regenerative mechanism.

Look for the good and the blessings in people, places and life situations which will reduce and eliminate the reactions that arise out of negative states of consciousness.
