Spinal adjustments Spinal
adjustments are
a procedure through which spinal nerve stress is reduced and ultimately
eliminated. An adjustment is a re-positioning of misaligned bones, muscles,
tendons and ligaments in order to reduce the stressful irritation to the nearby
nerves, thereby restoring the nervous system to optimal functioning. Spinal adjustments eliminate the cause of disease While
most other forms of health care work by treating the symptoms that develop when
the body has lost its ability to healthfully coordinate and control function, chiropractic
addresses the spinal nerve stress, that is often the cause of these
symptoms, thereby removing the roadblocks to the body's ability to heal and
regenerate itself. Unlike medicine, natural and traditional - which
seeks to remove disease through the use of external agents, chiropractic
adjustments remove blockage to normal neurological coordination and control of
body function, thereby allowing the body to heal and regenerate itself from the
inside - out. The value of non-force adjustmentsToday
many doctors of chiropractic have turned from the traditional forms of forceful
spinal manipulations used by chiropractic in its early days (the familiar
"cracking" of the neck and back) to non-force or low force methods to
adjust the spine. The appeal of non-force techniques is their gentle
approach (no "twisting" or "cracking") and long lasting
results. It is safe and effective for people of any age who are suffering from
any condition. Non-force
chiropractic adjustments are generally done with a gentle finger pressure to
areas of the spine that are misaligned or with an adjusting instrument.
Due to its gentleness, the body relaxes and co-operates with the adjustment,
rather than creating tension and resistance. The end result is that this
efficient approach helps patients hold their adjustments longer, so they can
completely recover from chronic pain and dis-ease. Over the years, non-force
practitioners have earned the reputation of being able to correct difficult and
complex chiropractic cases in a reasonable number of treatments. Stress Testing to Locate Spinal Nerve StressOne
of most effective methods of diagnosing spinal nerve stress is what we call "stress
testing". Through this gentle, non-invasive, and painless
procedure the doctor is able to evaluate the effects of various stresses
on the spine and related structures - the muscles, ligaments, and
intervertebral discs - and measure the body's reaction to these stresses.
Through stress testing the doctor is able to determine
With
Stress Testing X-Rays are not mandatory
- Stress testing allows doctors to use x-rays only when necessary to determine
concurrent pathology, reducing your exposure to harmful radiation by keeping
x-rays to a minimum.
